What leaves your browser, and what never does
What leaves your browser (titles and URLs you selected), what never does (cookies, passwords, page content, history) and how the sync registry is protected.
Data inventory
A sync extension has broad browser permissions by necessity, so the honest measure is what it actually transmits. This is the complete list.

Protection in transit and at rest
- All traffic between the extension and the sync registry uses HTTPS.
- Registry data is stored encrypted at rest by the hosting provider.
- Access is scoped to your licence; profiles cannot read another licence's set.
- Deleting your account removes stored sync data within 30 days.
Why profiles stay isolated
Sharing bookmarks is not the same as merging profiles. Braid Sync never writes to cookie, session or credential storage, so a shared folder can never become a shared login. That boundary is what makes the extension safe to run in a client-owned profile — and why an agency can share a toolkit folder without any client data crossing.
Third parties
Payments are handled by a payment processor, and hosting by an infrastructure provider. No data is sold or shared for advertising, and there are no third-party trackers in the extension. Website analytics are consent-gated and load nothing until you opt in — see the privacy policy.
Reporting a problem
If you believe you have found a security issue, email admin@braidsync.com with the detail and we will respond directly. Please do not publish it before we have had a chance to fix it.
